With nearly 30 years’ experience in the flooring industry, Rob Kilner has held senior roles with leading UK contractors and has successfully run his own contracting and restoration businesses.
His work spans domestic and large-scale commercial projects nationwide, covering installation, surface preparation, site management, project delivery, and detailed surveying.
Rob specialises in timber flooring, with particular expertise in acoustic systems and timber floor restoration and repair. Having overseen thousands of projects, his knowledge is firmly grounded in hands-on, practical experience.
As an independent flooring inspector, Rob provides impartial, clear, and actionable advice. His ability to quickly diagnose issues and recommend effective solutions makes him a trusted expert for homeowners, contractors, and property managers alike.
Tom began his career in the flooring industry in 2002 as a fitter and has since built extensive, hands-on experience across both domestic and commercial projects.
His work has given him a strong technical understanding of flooring systems, with particular expertise in wood and LVT flooring.
Over the years, Tom has developed detailed knowledge of installation methods, subfloor preparation, moisture management and product suitability, allowing him to identify issues quickly and accurately.
His practical, site-based background underpins a clear and objective inspection approach, providing reliable assessments grounded in real-world flooring experience.
Hugo has over 25 years of experience in the flooring industry, covering both installation and retail across domestic, commercial and industrial projects.
His background spans carpets, natural flooring, laminate and safety flooring, alongside extensive experience with specialist resin systems and subfloor preparation.
With hands-on knowledge of everything from underfloor heating and full floor rebuilds to tiling, decking and resin-bound surfaces, Hugo brings a practical, well-rounded understanding to every inspection, grounded in decades of real-world site experience.
